Alpha

Drove down to the No to take down the art show and document the pieces in it. Tim and I took a combined 500 photos. Needless to say his are better than mine and will be on the Onethousandohms main site soon.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

^ Flat black bike on a flat black background. Fucking artsy. We weren't messing around.

^ My friend John wanted to throw this bike off of the Golden Gate Bridge.

^ Bike detail shot #1.

^ Bike detail shot #2.

^ Tim hung 50 something drawings so quick and perfect.

^ They snaked through the whole space.

^ Hello corner.

^ All the pieces are ink of some sort. The cross hatchings on the bird piece are insane.

^ Martin sleeping.

^ My favorite of Tim's stuff. He will be forced to give it to me one day.

^ I got bored taking photos so I went outside and messed around with my ISO.

^ Tim taking shit seriously.

^ Came back inside. As aforementioned I rared up the ISO on the camera so the rest of the shots look like crap.

^ My blue table. Thanks mom. Thanks "Evening in Paris."

^ Santa was drinking a Budweiser on Boxing Day in Vancouver this past year. He also had a killer gold earring.

^ Alternate angle.

^ Table detail shot.

^ I told folks I was going to complete 8 new paintings. I finished 3. I said this in my artist statement but you probably didn't see it.

^ Better in Person #1.

^ Better in Person #2.

^ Better in Person #3.

^ I love old Mercedes. But if you offered me a Caddy, Lincoln, or Buick I would probably take it off your hands.

^ Camille next to a lamp. Funny story about that day. It is for another time though. And yes, all of the photos are supposed to be bluewashed like that.

^ This photo sums up my documentation strategy. Take a picture of a piece of art highlight everything but said piece of art. Ugh.

^ The show came down pretty quickly. It was pretty late at night and it was kind of sad. As aforementioned I am getting the real deal website in order. There will be Tim's rad pics on there and hopefully better scans of the photos and such. Until the next time.

1983 Ford Econoline

Tim and I had an art show in Fresno, CA that opened on March 6th called Alpha. I actually didn't take too many pictures but you will get the gist.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

^ The space is called Studio74. It is located in the Tower District. My aunt owns it. She teaches art to kids and has an awesome back yard. Thanks Ti Diane.

^ The view from across the street...pretty.

^ Tim handles art for a living. He hung the show proper with the quickness.

^ After we were done hanging it was time for a beer. I think they knew we were coming. Vans truck...

^ ...and Budweiser two steps out of the front door.

^ Met up with one of my only friends from high school Edson. So, how is CV Athletes coming?

^ On the way back to the gallery we passed this awesome diner. They specialize in Chicken Pot Pies. I wish I was worth a damn at taking photos.

^ Slept for a bit then drove back up North to pick up the RV. A 1983 Ford Econoline to be precise. I rented it from a guy in Tracy after seeing a Craigslist post. Seemed innocent enough.

^ First time driving a Recreational Vehicle of the sort. The drive over the bridge was interesting.

^ Picked up these guys. Sam Fuchs and Sam Barber and beer.

^ Sam's (Barber) girl Kaitlyn (most likely mispelled), Tim, and me hating being sober.

^ Sam's (Fuchs) girl Ruth is one of my favorite people in the world. She is a nurse and good people.

^ "Hey, tank's empty, cool gas station, I got the first round, ummm....shit's not starting...I'm serious."

^ The old Ford really didn't start. Pushed it out of harm's way, waited awhile, smoke a cigarette, called the RV rental's roadside service, hung out, then it started. It would do this three times. My pops said we should not have stopped the engine when we were filling up. Nascar does it.

^ Back on the road, jamming to music no one else liked.

^ I grew up in the Central Valley. It actually can be really nice, sort of.

^ As aforementioned, I didn't take too many pictures. This was taken at about 5am after some utter ridiculousness. I may or may not post more pics of the night when I get them off Tim's camera. I will definitely post pics of the artwork, so check back. This end's my first "real" blog post ever (The Breadboard doesn't really count, neither does my secret online journal). It wasn't that exhilarating.

Thanks to Sam, Sam, Ruth, Kaitlyn, Ali, Edson, Danny, my parents, Chris, my awesome aunt and uncle, and Fresno for coming out. Fuck the rest of you who said you were going to come and didn't. Not really...kind of.
